Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Technician to assist the HQ Survey and Mapping Office in the development and maintenance of the geographic framework that provides the up-to-date statewide datum reference for WSDOT project delivery, establishing geodetic survey control, bathymetric, photogrammetric and Three-Dimensional Terrestrial Lidar (3DTL). This position serves as an instrument operator, survey party member and technical expert for geodetic, photogrammetric, bathymetric, LiDAR, specialty control, mapping, and monitoring surveys statewide.

This is an in-training position that offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress upward through the Transportation Technician field and achieve the goal class of a Transportation Technician 3. Candidates will be considered for a Transportation Technician 1, Transportation Technician 2, or Transportation Technician 3 depending on their qualifications.
