The Sales Engineer is responsible for communicating and demonstrating to Transglobal’s existing clients, potential customers, and internal staff the GIS-related services along with data migration capabilities of Transglobal’s technical team and software platform (TGS Transform). This is accomplished through providing technical expertise for potential integration of existing software into TGS Transform platform, troubleshooting issues that arise for various TGS Transform users, providing feedback from customers/users on potential future developments to improve the overall user experience to Transglobal’s technical team, collaborating with Business Development Representatives during sales meetings/demonstrations, and conducting internal company meetings/demonstrations to strengthen Transglobal employees’ understanding of and aptitude for the TGS Transform advantages and capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand best practices and processes required to generate and manage design models and documentation effectively and efficiently with a focus on delivering quality
- Must have experience translating technical and non-technical users’ feedback into data-driven, quantitative workflows to help stakeholders solve problems
- Remain current on technology and methods of teaching with technology
- Must understand Python, ESRI, QGIS, and Google APIs to automate tasks, including editing, geoprocessing, data conversion, spatial analysis, geocoding, and data wrangling
- Software and languages requirement: SQL, SQL Server, ESRI, ArcGIS, Arc Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, Portal, Spotfire, QGIS, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Python, FME, and other related software
- Must be familiar with GIS workflows, applications, map products, tabular exports, and other deliverables
- Prepare the technical portion of proposals including diagrams and narrative
- Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
- Write technical papers on existing products for reference by the Business Department team
- Participate in the oversight of complex client install projects to ensure the promised services are deployed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science required
- GIS Certificate preferred
- Experience building and managing GIS and other data to support maps, analysis, reports, charts, and graphs of end applications: ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Arc Enterprise, Portal, Web Apps
- Must have a strong background in field survey data management systems and network operating systems management
- Must have strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Above-average computer skills with Microsoft Office 365 products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, changing environment
