South Coast Pediatrics has been serving patients in the Orange County community with empathy, kindness, caring and respect for over 39 years. Our medical practice has three medical offices, which are located in Santa Ana and Anaheim. The medical practice provides preventive care, sick and urgent care services seven days a week. We’re affiliated with over 10 health plans and serve over 16,000 patients providing thousands of visits a year. The Director of Business Development & Human Resources is entrusted by the Partners of South Coast Pediatrics to manage the intersection of people, process and technology to transform the medical practice & monitor, measure & improve patient’s satisfaction scores & direct the Human Resources operations.
The purpose of this role is to assist us in delivering high quality care at an affordable price.
- Support Change Management for the practice’s transformation initiatives.

- Manage Human Resources operations.
Provide end-to-end operational Business Development & Human Resources leadership to assigned SCP employees and management team. Fosters relationship with department leadership and provides counsel and guidance on issues relevant to employee and department goals and objectives. Responsible for assigned campus regulatory compliance and leads and supports efforts to increase employee engagement and the overall strength of the workplace.
Manages operational projects and initiates value-added projects to increase employee engagement. Serves as key participant in creating, planning and implementing strategic initiatives with accountability for the effectiveness of programs and processes.
Provides generalist support with limited direction from HR leadership; implements, interprets, communicates and, where appropriate, recommends HR policies and procedure for implementation.
Provides consultation and coaching to department heads regarding HR and business issues from a strategic standpoint to include current and future recruitment needs, coaching on effectively leading their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues and managing talent development programs. Makes recommendations to meet department needs and mitigate any potential risk.
Serves as a key change leader and champion of Network and practice’s culture and values.
Coordinates and assists with planning and execution of a broad range of HR programs including new hire orientation, onboarding standards, employee relations, compensation, organization design/change, performance management, recognition programs, workforce planning, talent management, learning and development and employee engagement.
Provides management information, data analysis, metrics and tools that give insight on people issues including retention.
Participates and/or leads investigations of employee grievances, claims of policy violations policies and procedures and works with department heads to take appropriate actions.
Actively participates in leadership meetings, employee meetings and special events.
Performs related duties, as required.
In addition to the job description above, the Director of Business Development & Human Resources is to perform any additional /miscellaneous duties as requested by the Medical Directors within the scope of practice.
- B.A. or B.S degree in related field, or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, human resources or health care management.
- Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
- Experience with Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
