Position Overview:

Smith Gee Studio is seeking an entry level Designer with some working experience to join our top-notch team of creative, smart and fun people. This person will assist us with the drawing process for both public and private sector projects which may include mixed-use, retail, office, multi-family, hospitality, and urban redevelopment projects across the country and throughout Nashville’s region. The ideal candidate will be a team-player with strong design, drawing, and rendering skills.

Smith Gee Studio’s collaborative culture is very important to us. The designer would be expected to have the ability to work within a team environment, be respectful, ask questions, be flexible, and participate in the full design process from SDs to CDs. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to high quality placemaking, urban design, community engagement, sustainable design, and be skilled at quickly adapting to the shifting needs of our clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
  • Working internship experience
  • Proficient design and rendering skills (hand drawing, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Proficient computer skills (Gmail, Google Calendar, MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills
