Summary

The Data Analyst will be responsible for quantitative and strategic analyses in support of revenue generating departments of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. The Data Analyst will provide data and analysis to inform decision-making on variety of subjects including, ticket pricing, revenue forecasting, surveying, profitability analyses, customer segmentation and sponsorship measurement and valuation. The role will be responsible for supporting Bills and Sabres management to address their respective business needs, leverage the CRM system and data warehouse for the Bills, Sabres and PSE and drive the adoption of data into all aspects of decision making. The role will interact regularly with Pegula Sports and Entertainment (“PSE”) management, Accounting and Finance, Business Development, Marketing and Ticket Sales and Services and Marketing teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ticket Sales:

· Perform revenue forecasting and trend analysis on ticket sales

· Utilize primary and secondary market ticket data to make ticket pricing recommendations

· Analyze retention and identify at-risk accounts

· Assess the impact of ticketing efforts, summarizing key insights and communicating relevant learnings and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization

Database/CRM:

· Integrate numerous sources of customer behavior

· Assist with marketing automation efforts for email and digital advertising campaigns

· Build and maintain Tableau reports and analyses using various data sources such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, loyalty, ticketing, email, social media, concessions, retail, MLB, CRM, etc.

· Improve breadth, depth, and efficiency of organizational data reporting and analysis using internal business intelligence tools

· Collaborate with IT department and various third parties to integrate new sources of data into CRM to create 360-degree customer profiles

· Develops and maintains internal business reporting. Provides, when necessary, analytical support when compiling reporting information. Evaluates and presents information in manner that will facilitate management’s understanding of the results and impact

· Maintains the integrity of the information database (timeliness and accuracy of data). Works both internally and with data warehouse vendor to develop ways to facilitate and automate access to and the functionality of historical data in the warehouse

Marketing:

· Works with Digital Media team to analyze all paid digital campaigns across social platforms to report on impressions, placements, and ROI. Creating digital campaign recaps, including analysis of organic social media posts, search and other digital efforts

· Works with Content Marketing team to analyze and report on all email marketing efforts

Sponsorship:

· Work on asset valuation and creation of new product development

· Create reporting for partners and analysis for meetings as needed

Other duties as assigned

Must maintain the upmost confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

· Bachelor’s Degree required; Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or Mathematics degree preferred

· Strong knowledge of regression analysis and other statistical tools/techniques required

· Previous work experience in a similar function managing data sets and performing statistical analyses required

· Previous experience with SQL

· Proficiency with business intelligence software solution a plus (Tableau preferred)

· High proficiency with Excel required, including ability to build complex spreadsheet models, run pivots, v-lookups and other advanced functions

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred
  • Proficiency with R, Stata, or Python preferred

· Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends
