Our Urban Mobility Office is recruiting for a business operations manager! In this senior management role, you will lead our office business operations, administration, fiscal and budget management, safety program, small contracting program and facilities management. You will also lead and manage staff and establish business standards and practices for all programs within the Urban Mobility Office. Apply today!

A day in the life:
- Establish expectations and direct the preparation of the office budget.
- Monitor budget expenditures, analyze implication of program submittals and provide oversight in the allocation of budget.
- Manage and lead the Administrative and Business Operations Section.
- Develop and implement section operating procedures and standards.
- Recommend and implement revisions of agency policies and section/office procedures and practices.
- Develop, implement, evaluate and modify a strategic plan for the management of the Urban Mobility Office-owned and leased facilities.
- Negotiate and oversee leases for facilities not owned by ODOT, including collocated project offices.
- Administer the Urban Mobility Office’s position management function and implement strategic staffing plans.
- Oversee the Urban Mobility Office’s Safety Program.
- Participate on statewide business line team and other statewide teams.
- Provide leadership and coordinate activities of locally-assigned central staff.
- Work is performed in a typical office environment with occasional regional travel required.

What we need:
Five (5) years of experience in supervision, staff-technical, or professional-level work. One (1) year of this experience must have included supervision and management of a program, section, or unit which included one or more of the following areas:
a) Development of program rules and policies.
b) Development of long- and short-range goals and plans.
c) Program evaluation.
OR
d) Budget preparation.
OR
Five (5) years of experience in supervision, staff-technical, or professional-level work. One (1) year of this experience must have included program/project leader responsibility involving one or more of the following areas:
a) Development of program rules and policies.
b) Development of long- and short-range goals and plans.
c) Program evaluation and/or project evaluation.
OR
d) Monitoring and controlling or preparing a budget.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent course work (144 quarter or 96 semester hours) in a field related to management, such as business or public administration, or a field related to the program of the employing agency, may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience, but will not substitute for the one (1) year of specialized experience. This applies to both qualifying options above.
