About the Position

Neocis is a venture-backed start-up company based in South FL developing the next generation of robotic surgery systems. The team has a successful track record in robotic surgery and includes a team of world-class engineers with backgrounds from MIT, Caltech, and Georgia Tech. The company has received FDA clearance following a successful clinical study and is preparing for successful commercialization. It is a ground-floor opportunity to get experience with a high-tech company that is poised to revolutionize surgery.

You will be part of the core development team creating medical visualizations and application GUIs. Your graphics knowledge and expertise will be used to display complex medical devices and information, improve our CT visualization tools, and much more. You will interact with hardware, electronics, and mechanical design engineers as well as regulatory professionals in a start-up environment.

We seek a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Clear understanding of OO programming concepts
  • Experience with user interface design for software applications
  • Familiarity with computer graphics, linear algebra, and core image visualization concepts
  • Experience with documenting and testing large software applications
  • Comfortable with use of RCS, CVS or similar repository based code sharing system
  • Openness to exploring and integrating third-party software development kits and libraries
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage uncertainty, push the limits, and think like an owner

Additional desirable skills and experience include:

  • 4 to 8+ years C++ programming experience
  • Experience with VTK/ITK or other visualization libraries
  • Familiar with CT scan images and DICOM protocol standards
  • Experience with medical device software
  • Start-up experience
