Who You’ll Work With:

The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Lab Engineer will lead in the realization of customer requirements through Proof of Concepts, Testing & Validation, Evaluation of Partner Solutions, and 3rd party products and enclosures. While Lenovo’s OEM business leverages its existing portfolio of products, there are many opportunities to customize offerings for unique OEM solutions, and the role of the OEM lab Engineer will help OEM customers to validate technical solution requirements.

The lab engineer will also develop technical relationships with key alliance partners, suppliers, and integrators in the ecosystem to ensure Lenovo is in the best technical position to meet the needs of the market. The lab engineer will be responsible for inputting requirements to Lenovo product development teams and will engage in specific testing and certifications for the OEM business.

What You’ll Do

This OEM lab engineer position is a technical pre-sales/relationship role supporting Lenovo’s OEM solutions architect and OEM sales teams.

Additional responsibilities include:

-Conduct performance tests / benchmarking on Customer Solutions and perform compatibility and power loss testing for customer proprietary hardware

-Provide technical assistance in compliance and certification of hardware for specific Industry

-Participate in initial customer issue debugging and data collection, and develop Proof of Concepts (POC) based on customer requirements for validation which may include Hardware, Software, and 3rd Party offerings

-Set up demo’s for customers to review POC’s and benchmark results

-Assist with test plans and stay engaged with internal & external teams during solution development

-Set and manage expectations around solutions, internally and externally

-Evaluate customer solution for optimization and best alignment to Lenovo products/services

-Understand emerging technologies and products and Lenovo’s strategies to address them

-Collaborate with OEM Solution Architects, Customers, Sales team, and extended Lenovo teams

Position Requirements:

You Definitely Have:

• Bachelors degree or greater in an engineering discipline or related

• Experience in an Engineering lab environment

It Would Be a Plus If You Have:

• Strong experience in PC, Smart Devices, and Operating Systems

• Experience working on Linux operating systems

• Experience with Device Management & Content Management Solutions programs

• Experience using thermal chambers

• Experience working with IoT sensors, gateways, and enclosures
