Job Description
Kobre & Kim is accepting applications for Analysts with native or fluent Korean language skills for our New York and Washington, DC offices with a summer 2021 start date.
This position is an excellent opportunity for recent college graduates or young professionals to gain substantive, hands-on experience in the dynamic fields of complex civil and criminal financial litigation. Analysts immediately join case teams and closely collaborate with the firm’s lawyers, enjoying levels of responsibility and client contact surpassing what other law firms offer. Analysts also support knowledge management and global business development to drive the firm’s practice and product innovation forward.
General duties include factual and financial analysis, legal and open source research, language translation, preparation of court papers, document review and analysis, substantive factual drafting, overseeing case team workflow and project management, and attendance in court or client meetings under lawyer supervision.
Analysts work with analysts, lawyers and other professionals across all Kobre & Kim locations including, but not limited to, our offices in New York, Washington DC, San Francisco, Miami, London, Seoul, Hong Kong, Shanghai, São Paulo, Tel Aviv, the British Virgin Islands, and the Cayman Islands. All analysts have opportunities for advancement after their first year, including transitioning to management roles, specializing in practice areas, and/or transferring to other offices worldwide. Compensation is highly competitive with top-tier consulting firms.
Job Qualifications
Analysts are typically top-ranked graduates from prestigious colleges and universities. Candidates should possess a four-year college degree, a strong academic background, and excellent writing, research, teamwork and communication skills. We strongly encourage applications from self-confident, highly motivated individuals who display a broad range of academic and extracurricular interests. Interest in exploring financial markets and pursuing a career in law is welcomed but not necessary. All majors including STEM, finance, social sciences, and liberal arts should apply. The firm is currently specifically seeking an Analyst with native or fluent level Korean language skills (oral and written) oral and written. Additional language skills — Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish — are not required but strongly encouraged.
