The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health is currently accepting applications to fill a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track teaching faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor of Instruction. This position may be located at any one of the six UTHealth School of Public Health campuses across the state of Texas (Austin, Brownsville, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, San Antonio). Candidates will be expected to teach 5-6 health promotion courses per year with at least 4 of those in introductory health promotion, behavioral science, and/or qualitative research courses. This appointment has the potential of promotion to the level of Associate Professor of Instruction.

Position Qualifications: A Ph.D. or Dr.PH. degree in behavioral sciences, health promotion, health education, or related disciplines is required. The candidate must have a strong interest in teaching, enthusiasm to work with students, and provide evidence of teaching excellence with good communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates who wish to focus their careers on the development and practicing of innovative teaching strategies and novel pedagogic technologies. A teaching statement is required for application consideration.

The UTHealth School of Public Health department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences has a 40+ year history at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and is committed to excellence in research, education and collaboration services in health promotion, health education, and behavioral science. The department currently has 35 full-time faculty members and over 200 students (MPH, Dr.PH., and Ph.D.) across six campuses in Texas (Austin, Brownsville, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio).
