Clinical Trial Process Improvement (CTPI) initiative is part of a tri-institutional collaboration between Fred Hutch, University of Washington (UW), and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA).
The Sr. Business Process Analyst position is responsible for analyzing clinical trial administration workflows across the institutions; analyzing data and systems to identify improvement opportunities; mapping workflows to system capabilities; helping central administrative offices and study team staff understand and adopt changes introduced by CTPI; planning, designing, and conducting functional and user acceptance testing; and creating end user-facing documents that describe how clinical trial workflows fit into research team operations.
- Performs analysis of clinical research administration current state workflows, working side-by-side with study teams and administrative offices to understand workflow pain points and opportunities
- Leads cross-functional teams to solve complex business, systems or change management issues
- By project assignment, drills down into complex clinical research workflows at either of the CTPI partner institutions to drive efficiencies and integration
- Works effectively on multiple projects simultaneously
- Maintains documentation of end-to-end workflow that is supported by a matrix of systems (Zendesk, REDCap, OnCore Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS))
- Synthesize source data, metrics and user feedback to identify current state pain points and opportunities for improvement and incorporation into new or existing workflows
- Recommends system solutions to support improved workflows and data capture for operational metrics
- Summarize key workflow changes and define specific change management/adoption plans for each change by user role
- Develops comprehensive user acceptance testing plans for system changes, develops testing scripts and leads end users through the user acceptance testing efforts
- Conduct adoption sessions including brown bags, webinars and training sessions that help teams understand and adopt new workflows
- Guides and advises less-experienced Analysts
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Three to five years of experience working with operations and business systems including workflows preferably in clinical research
- Experience working in enterprise systems preferably CTMS
- Ability to synthesize applicable industry standards and best practices for clinical research
- Advanced knowledge of business analysis tools, methodologies and best practices; including but not limited to leading cross-functional team discovery and business requirement sessions, process mapping and SWOT analysis
- Experience with system conversion, customization and integration design and execution
- Proven ability to communicate complex workflows to end users
- Sustained, proven ability to think analytically, problem solve and use independent judgment
- Excellent communication (written and oral), customer service, collaboration, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Superior presentation and organizational skills with an attention to detail mindset
- Proven ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders, including technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization
- Proven ability to teach and train others
