In support of the PA Program curriculum candidate’s primary duties and responsibilities will include:
Participate as a lecturer/small group facilitator /course director throughout the curriculum, teaching in areas of expertise and program need.
Participate as an instructor/proctor for clinical assessment activities in the didactic phases.
Participate in student activities of the didactic and clinical phases.
Participate in the grading of student assignments and evaluation of student academic and professional development.
Participate in student remediation planning and execution.
Actively participate in ongoing program self-assessment and accreditation activities.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.
As a member of the faculty of the PA Program, the Faculty Associate will:
Serve as an advisor to students.
Serve on program committees as assigned by the Program Director.
Participate in faculty development activities.
Serve as a role model for PA Program students, staff, and faculty.
Represent the PA Program within the ECU community
Support other PA faculty teaching in the curriculum.
Current, unrestricted license as a physician assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or eligibility for licensure
3 years clinical experience in patient care as a physician assistant or physician
Completion of an ARC-PA accredited program
A master’s degree or higher in a related field
Certification as a physician assistant by the NCCPA
Organizational and networking skills, and dedication to being a team player
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work efficiently and effectively in both an independent setting and as part of a team
Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships with students, peers, administration, and community
Ability to prioritize, work well with deadlines, and demonstrate careful attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Geographic Location: Candidate willing to relocate and/or live within 60 miles of ECU
