Dane County owns and operates a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plant that converts landfill gas to pipeline quality RNG that is injected into the interstate transmission pipeline. The Plant also has systems to offload RNG trucked to the site via tube trailers. This classification is responsible for providing technical engineering and project management expertise to optimize performance of the Plant (including the offloading station), engines/generators, and landfill gas extraction system components. Objectives include safety, compliance with applicable regulations, and maximizing efficiencies and revenues.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Provides technical engineering and project management support to a team of technicians performing operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Plant. Assists with diagnosis and corrective actions of adverse operating conditions and equipment malfunctions, including emergency repairs, associated with the Plant, engines/generators, and the landfill gas extraction systems. Develops and maintains comprehensive O&M plan, standard operating procedures, and process safety measures. Designs and coordinates Plant modifications and major repairs, and consults on all technical aspects of operation of the Plant and landfill gas extraction system. Ensures regulatory compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) renewable fuel standard protocols and other applicable environmental, safety, and industry regulations. This classification will also be assigned a broad spectrum of responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial management, contract administration, and internal and external team leadership and project management for all aspects of Plant operations.
REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to six (6) years in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; Renewable Energy; Biogas Operations; Solid Waste Management; or another related field or industry.
