Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Design of IT and communications infrastructure for the built environment including structured cabling systems, local area networks, wireless/radio systems, voice systems, security systems, public address and customer information systems, airport systems, transit systems
- Report writing
- Work on projects using AutoCAD
- Give structure to ideas – lots of “taking a first pass” at spreadsheets, reports and analyses for discussion later rather than instruction
- Attend meetings and learn from listening, asking question and discussion
- Work with people from other disciplines and/or vendors to gain knowledge on new subjects
- Attend meeting – listen, ask questions. Be involved in discussions with other disciplines and Architects to gain knowledge & experience.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Computer Engineering
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
- Must not require sponsorship, now or in the future to be considered for this role
Preferred:
- EIT/ FE Certification
- Master’s Degree with an emphasis on: Telecommunications, Information Systems – Network Design and Implementation, Cyber Security, Wireless System Design (Cellular), Two-way radio systems, Technology consulting
- Coursework in computer science
- Internship experience within AE/Construction industry or IT consulting firm. Aviation/rail experience in any form
- Experience with: AutoCAD, Revit, 3D modeling skills (Navis, etc.), wireless propagation modeling and scripting
