Event Series to Bring Organizations Together to Inspire Expanding Careers in Service

South Florida, March 1, 2021 – The ‘2021 Spring into Service’ event series is a collaborative effort set to
engage students and alumni in discovering and preparation for career pathways to make their impact on
the world through service. Hosted in part by University of Miami, it will take place virtually on Tuesday
evenings of March 16th and April 6th from 5:30 to 7pm. Participating organizations will include multiple
branches of national AmeriCorps programs: City Year, Florida VISTA Network, National Health Corps,
National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) & FEMA Corps, Public Allies, and Teach for America. Also
joining is the internationally known Peace Corps and national service group Repair the World.

University of Miami’s AmeriCorps Recruiter, Naomi Ross, says: “Our goal is to bring more awareness to
paid career opportunities in a variety of service programs.” First, there will be an “Intro to Service” focus
including a group panel discussion regarding how service-driven networks are making a difference on
current social issues in communities around the US, followed by breakout rooms to connect further with
partner organizations. Then the second event addresses “Applying to Service” so attendees can connect
about roles they’re most interested in, have their resumes reviewed, plus ask any final questions about
